Don’t Forget Your Child – Evenflo Car Seats

What if there was a product that could help prevent injury or even death?

Would you use it?

Would you trust it?

Would you rely on it?

In the past week, Evenflo released a new car seat to potentially help answer the problem of parents accidently leaving their children in hot cars. The Today Show recently demonstrated the new product on an early morning segment. They used a real, live 7-month old baby to show how the Evenflo Embrace DLX Infant Car Seat with SensorSafe technology can help save lives when parents forget that their child is still in the car.

The product ‘comes equipped with a sensor that sounds an alarm after the ignition is turned off to remind parents that there is a baby in the back seat. The seat comes with a receiver that plugs into the data port into the on-board diagnostic port that mechanics use to check your car's system and links to the sensor on a clip that goes across the baby's chest in the seat using Wi-Fi. Once the car starts moving, an electronic link is established with the sensor on the baby's chest, so that once the car stops and is turned off, an alert sounds twice that is designed to sound different than any car noise or cell phone ring.’

Currently Walmart is selling this new product on their website for $150 – a reasonable price to not only keep your child safe while driving, but also to never leave them in the vehicle. While many of us can’t imagine ever forgetting our children in the backseat, this tragedy has only been growing over the past 15+ years.

While the statistics are alarming, the new technology from Evenflo hopes to alleviate this problem with their new product. Whether you decide to rely on this product or not, please be mindful of all of the passengers in your vehicle before leaving. Take that extra minute to glance in the back seat---it could save a life!
